Bringing People Together. Reducing Loneliness. Strengthening Community.

At Ember Vale, we believe nobody should feel alone.
Our Community Hub is being developed to provide a welcoming, safe and inclusive space where older residents can build friendships, enjoy meaningful activities and feel part of their community.
With Bromley being home to more than 58,000 residents aged 65 and over, we recognise the growing need for places where people can connect, access support and maintain their wellbeing. Many older adults experience loneliness, social isolation, bereavement, reduced mobility or a loss of confidence following significant life changes.
Ember Vale Community Hub has been created to address these challenges by offering a warm, friendly environment where people can come together, make meaningful connections and enjoy a sense of belonging.
Whether you’re looking for companionship, support, friendship or simply somewhere to spend time with others, you will always be welcome at Ember Vale.

Our Mission
Our mission is simple:
To reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing and create a stronger, more connected community for older residents.
We believe everyone deserves friendship, purpose and the opportunity to remain active and engaged within their local community.
Through social activities, wellbeing programmes, volunteer opportunities and community support, we aim to help people live happier, healthier and more connected lives.

Community Fundraising Shop
Our Community Hub will include a community fundraising shop selling donated clothing, accessories, books, household items, gifts and other quality donated goods.
Every purchase made will directly support activities and services provided through Ember Vale Community Hub, helping us reduce loneliness and improve wellbeing among older residents.
The shop will also promote sustainability by giving pre-loved items a second life while creating valuable volunteering opportunities for local residents.
Funds raised through the shop will help support community activities, wellbeing programmes, food support initiatives and future development of the Hub..
Elderly Food Support Programme
We understand that many older people are experiencing increasing financial pressures due to the rising cost of living.
Through partnerships with local businesses, supermarkets, food suppliers, community organisations and donors, we aim to provide practical food support for older residents facing hardship.
The programme will offer access to essential food items, seasonal food parcels and emergency support where needed, helping to ensure older people have access to nutritious food while reducing financial stress.
We will also help connect residents with additional support services, advice and community resources where appropriate.
Why We Are Needed
Loneliness and social isolation can have a significant impact on both physical and mental wellbeing.
Many older residents live alone, have lost partners, family members or friends, experience reduced mobility, or simply have fewer opportunities to socialise than they once did.
Our Community Hub will provide a safe and welcoming place where people can meet others, access support and participate in activities that improve wellbeing and quality of life.
By helping people develop friendships and become more involved in their community, we hope to reduce isolation, improve confidence and create stronger support networks for older residents across Bromley.
Volunteer With Us
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.
Whether you can offer a few hours a month or regular support, there are many ways to get involved. From helping at events and activities to supporting the fundraising shop, companionship programmes and food support initiatives, volunteers play a vital role in helping us create a thriving community.
Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills and make a genuine difference in the lives of others.
